Meet our WA Creative Finalist Lea! ✨📖
Lea Šimić is originally a Western Sydney based director, writer, actor and up-coming theatre maker. Currently based in Perth, she is studying a Bachelor of Performing Arts at WAAPA. Some of her past training includes Meisner Technique at The Actors Pulse. Her most recent work Your Blood Isn’t Better Than Mine developed as part of 600 Seconds Makes program at The Blue Room Theatre. Lea has also, previously worked as the Marketing Coordinator for Crash Theatre Co’s show Sisterhood of the Travelling Lighter and The Mermaids Table. This has extended to many collaborations supporting local brands such as Mirror Merch and Spilt Milk Festival. She was a part of Jeremy Goldstein’s ‘Truth to Power Cafe’ project. Her work is noted for its connection to intergenerational issues presented through forms of physical theatre, emphasising the voices which are often misplaced and forgotten within society.
