Rachael Burns in Project See & B Issue 02 - It’s a Sign!
We’re thrilled to welcome back Rachael Burns for Project See & B Issue 02 - It’s a Sign. Rachael, who was a featured creative in our first issue, continues to inspire with her powerful voice and artistic expression.
Rachael Burns (she/her) is a 22 year-old mental health and disability advocate with lived and living experience in both respective fields. She is passionate about breaking down stigma and prejudice that accompanies any degree of ‘deviation’ from society’s narrow view of ’normal. She hopes to build a career in this space and create a world that is more accepting and accommodating of the beauty that is diversity. Alongside many mental health advocacy, disability advocacy, and consumer advisory roles, Rachael also loves to use art - in her spare time - as a way of achieving this and communicating ideas to a wider audience.
📸 Pictured is her featured piece:
“As someone recovering from an eating disorder in an inherently disordered world, damaging subliminal messages loom around just about every corner - from advertisements to 'influencers' to day-to-day conversations. What does not justify a second thought by the majority of society serves as yet another signal of the world in which we live and its deeply damaging values and ideologies.”
